WaterWalks aims to raise awareness of the rapidly changing water environment of the world we live in. They invite everyone to join in creating a visual map of our rivers and waterways with photos, videos, water quality measurements, sounds, stories and comments. Artists, ecologists, school children, art historians, urban planners or everyone who enjoys walking can become part of this global water monitoring project.

On the 4th and 5th of June LUDWIG LIVE will organize a national day to walk along the IJmeer. This will be among others a way to launch the WaterWalks program.

PULSAQUA advised WaterWalks by giving input to their project plan concerning the motivation and engagement of citizen scientists for joining WaterWalks IJmeer.

Furthermore, Sandra de Vries from PULSAQUA joined the WaterWalks IJmeer as ambassador, showing participants how they can use the WaterWalks monitoring application and platform to collect and report on important observations and measurements for monitoring initiatives: See also: https://vimeo.com/592913733
