Spot the Hotspot

As a partner of Waterlab, PULSAQUA has played a key role in leading and organizing the Spot the Hotspot project, where together with 507 citizen scientist, the macro- and micro plastics in the water in Delfland. In the water authority district of Delfland this data is used to assess whether changes can be made to the water infastructure to prevent certain hotspots from forming.


In this project citizens throughout the Netherlands, citizens are empowered to do their own measurements on microplastics in local waters, either by directly measuring microparticles or by locating ‘macro’ hotspots of plastic waste that degrades into microplastics.
